The purpose of El Bosque Nuevo is to balance the needs of the earth with the needs of its human inhabitants, to encourage man to live in harmony with the rainforests of Costa Rica. We work to protect and preserve the rain and cloud forest. We conduct restoration of the forest by doing reforestation, expanding and replacing the natural habitat that is being destroyed.

We take pride in our work and in the peaceful culture of our community. We care about one another and fully expect this pride and care to show in our herbs, woodcrafts, tropical flowers, and other product lines we expect to develop.

In my country of Costa Rica, most of the rain forest have been destroyed. We are working to save the rain forest that we have left. All of our production is sustainable. We grow our products in low density fashion under the existing canopy as well as under the canopy of the new trees that we have planted. At El Bosque, we live and work in harmony with our surroundings. We hope not only to save the existing forest, but also to expand and increase the forest as time goes along. We do not ask for donations. We take pride in our abilities to work in this atmosphere of harmony with our surroundings and to be able to provide for our families in such a noble rewarding effort. We would like to associate with those who not only share our concerns for the loss of the forest, but that are also actively engaged in letting the people of the world know of the significance of this great loss.

How can we expect those who live in temperate areas of the world to feel and know the importance of this loss? We know of no better way to educate the world than through showing them the captivating beauty of the tropical butterflies of the rain forest. When you see the beautiful butterflies on this site, remember, beauty is fragile. It must be appreciated and nurtured. Destroy 10 acres of forest so that you sell the timber, and you destroy the habitat of thousands and thousands of the Earth's most beautiful creatures.
